Lockdown Practice

The safety of all students and staff of University School is of great importance. Today we practiced a drill known as a “lockdown” at 10:00 am this morning. The teachers gave instructions to students regarding their role during a drill of this kind and School Resource Officers from the Calgary Police Service supported us with this drill. No one is allowed to enter or leave the building during a lockdown procedure.

We appreciate your support in these very important matters. If you have any further questions, please let us know. Also, we encourage you to discuss today’s lockdown with your children as a way to increase their understanding and comfort in these situations.

It is a volunteer-run charitable organization.

Volunteers Needed for Casino Fundraiser

We are only three weeks away and University School only has 21 out of the 42 volunteers spots filled for the upcoming Parent Association fundraiser.

If we are unable to fill all of the spots then the Parent Association will have to pay for others to work the casino and we may be forced to forfeit the ability to run Casino Fundraisers in the future. This is the school’s largest fundraiser and can bring in upwards of $65 000 every 18 months to support learning at Universit School.
