Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year

Get ready for the new year with these key dates and times, school supply lists, and other information.

First Day of Classes

Please find important information below to answer any initial questions you might have:

Who is my homeroom teacher?

Families will receive an e-mail from their homeroom teacher on Thursday, August 27th around 4:00pm welcoming them to the school and their grade-team. If you have not received an e-mail by 6pm, please check your junk folder as sometimes e-mails end up there.

Where should we go on the first morning, Monday, August 31st?

Upon arriving at school on Monday morning, please proceed to the compound area at the back of the school. Teacher’s will provide information regarding a designated grade area to meet up and will have signage to support. Teachers will be at their designated area at 7:50 AM to greet students prior to entering the building at the 8:00 AM entry bell.

Kindergarten students will have a staggered entry for the first two days of school.  Information regarding staggered entry will be sent in a separate communication.

Where should I park when dropping off or picking up my child at school?

Please ensure you allow enough time to park in the designated parking areas available within the community. For student safety, staff parking lots should not be accessed by families for drop-off or pick-up.

School buses will begin running on the first day of school. Please do not park in front of the school, as buses will need this space to safely pull in, park, and unload students. We need to keep the entire length of the street directly in front of the school clear.

How will I find out important information about my child’s homeroom and the school?

  • Information specific to your child’s homeroom will be communicated via e-mail from their teacher typically on Fridays.
  • The University Monday message is sent from Administration on Monday mornings. This communication includes information about school-wide events, important dates, news from our School Council, glimpses into learning etc.
  • Important information and dates are posted to our school website. Make sure to add the link to your “favorites” for easy access and subscribe to the school calendar.

Are there forms I need to complete?

Yes, there are several mandatory forms you need to complete at the beginning of the school year. Please ensure that you read the information carefully and digitally complete the necessary forms in School Engage.  For help on how to complete these forms please visit https://support.cbe.ab.ca/schoolengage-complete-form.  We will send you an e-mail about which forms you need to complete in the first week.

We are busily working to process new registrations received over the summer and will be sharing our full staffing complement and configuration in the next couple of weeks.

Our school's success relies on a strong partnership between home and school. Your continued support, involvement, collaboration and open communication continue to play a pivotal role in creating an environment where each student can thrive. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out.

We look forward to seeing all our bright and eager students on the first day of school, Monday, August 31, 2026.  We have another memorable journey of learning, growth, and discovery in store this year
