University Families,

As we head into our final week of school before Winter Break, we’re looking forward to celebrating together with Spirit Week! It’s a fun way to wrap up 2025, build community, and enjoy some festive cheer; all while continuing the great learning happening in our classrooms.

As always, we encourage students to keep showing kindness, respect, and care for one another throughout the week. Spirit Week is a great reminder that learning, having fun, and looking out for others all go hand in hand.

Here’s what’s coming up:

  • Monday, Dec 15 – Merry Monday: Wear a fun or favourite toque or hat
  • Tuesday, Dec 16 – Tinsel Toes: Fun Sock Day
  • Wednesday, Dec 17 – Winter Wonderland: Wear white and blue
  • Thursday, Dec 18 – Cozy or Festive Sweater Day
  • Friday, Dec 19 – PJ Day

We can’t wait to see the creativity and school spirit. Let’s make it a joyful, kind, and memorable final week before the break.

Warmly,
Jennifer McTighe and Lori Bonanno

University School Gift Card Drive

At this time of year, so many of us are looking for ways to contribute to the well-being of those around us. For others, it is a time when a helping hand is greatly appreciated. As a community, by working together we can continue to support one another.

If your family is looking for a way to support, please consider donating a gift card as part of the University School Gift Card Drive to be able to help some University School families.  We will ensure the gift cards are shared amongst families that need a little bit of help.

Some gift card ideas are Walmart, Safeway, Save on Foods, Canadian Tire, Tim Hortons, Subway, zoo or movie tickets, bus passes, Visa or Mastercard. Gift cards can be brought down to the office anytime from today, thru until Wednesday, December 17.

In turn, if your family would benefit from support, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped at our Family Movie Night. We had a great crowd! A big shout-out to Save On Foods in University District for donating all the popcorn, chips, and juice boxes. Their generosity helped make the evening a success.
