Monday Message | June 22, 2026
Dear University Families,
This will be our final Monday Message for the 2025–2026 school year... and yes, it's a longer one, so thank you for bearing with us!
As another wonderful school year comes to a close, I want to take a moment, on behalf of our entire staff, to express our sincere appreciation to the University School community. Thank you for your partnership, kindness, encouragement, and support throughout the year. Whether volunteering your time, attending school events/field trips, supporting learning at home, or simply sharing your children with us each day, you have helped make University School an exceptional place to learn and grow.
As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, I wanted to share a few staffing updates.
Staffing Updates
At the end of this school year, we will say goodbye to several valued members of our staff.
Ms. Wright will be leaving University School as she relocates to Montreal to be closer to her family. While we will certainly miss her, we wish her every happiness and success as she begins this exciting new chapter.
Earlier this year, Ms. Tracey Gibson accepted a temporary position as an Inclusive Education Learning Leader with the Calgary Board of Education. I am pleased to share that this position has now been made permanent. While we are sad that she will not be returning to University School next year, we are incredibly proud of her and wish her continued success as she supports students, staff, and schools across the CBE.
Ms. Rayya Nouri has accepted a teaching position at North Haven School for the 2026–2027 school year. We thank her for the care, dedication, and commitment she has shown to our students and wish her all the very best in her new role.
On behalf of our entire school community, I would like to thank each of these educators for the positive impact they have had on our students, families, and staff. They have each helped make University School the special place it is today, and we wish them every success in the future.
We are also excited to welcome several new staff members who will be joining our team next year:
- Daniel Pitts – Grade 6
- Samaara Laquis-Bhupsingh – Grade 2
- Lynn Shu – Grade 1
- Anna Kim – EES Teacher
We are thrilled to welcome these educators to University School and look forward to the strengths, experiences, and perspectives they will bring to our learning community.
As summer begins, I hope every family has the opportunity to slow down, spend time together, create lasting memories, and enjoy a well-deserved break. To our Grade 6 students and families, thank you for being part of the University School community. We wish you every success as you begin the next chapter of your educational journey.
"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." — A.A. Milne
Thank you for an incredible school year and for the trust, partnership, and support you have shown throughout the year. It has been a privilege to be part of such an exceptional school community.
Have a safe, relaxing, and wonderful summer. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall for another great year of learning and growing together.
