We hope everyone had a great weekend.

This week, we are very fortunate to welcome a visiting Knowledge Keeper, Clarence Wolfleg (Skip), who will be spending time in our school on April 29 and 30, and again on May 6 and 7. Skip is a respected Elder from Siksika Nation, and is widely known as a drummer, singer, and storyteller.

Students and staff will have the opportunity to learn alongside him through storytelling, teachings, and shared experiences. This is a meaningful opportunity for our school community to deepen our understanding of Indigenous perspectives, culture, and ways of knowing.

We are looking forward to a great week of learning together.

Class List Creation for 2025–2026

In the coming weeks, we will begin the process of creating class lists for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a thoughtful and collaborative process that involves careful consideration of a number of factors, including students’ learning needs, social dynamics, friendships, and overall class composition.

As part of this process, teachers will gather input from students regarding peers they feel they work well with. This information is one of many factors considered when creating balanced classes.

We ask families to trust in this process, as significant time and care is taken to ensure the best possible learning environment for all students.

If there is information related to your child’s educational needs or placement that the school may not already be aware of, you are welcome to share this by contacting Jennifer McTighe at jlmctighe@cbe.ab.ca  no later than May 15, 2026. While all input will be considered, we are not able to guarantee that specific requests can be accommodated.
